Today, we hosted a guest from the US for the Tokyo Today, we hosted a guest from the US for the Tokyo Karate Dojo Experience. 🇺🇸 She practiced the movements of karate “Kata”. During our cozy time, we had a great conversation. She shared how much Ichiro⚾️ brought to the local community and the big impact he made there. Hearing this directly from someone who lives there made me feel happy and a bit proud. Today’s Tokyo Karate Dojo Experience was filled Today’s Tokyo Karate Dojo Experience was filled with great energy as we welcomed two young guests from Poland. 🇵🇱 We started with breathing techniques, then moved into practicing classical Japanese body mechanics that do not rely on brute force. Even though these movements were completely new to them, it was deeply rewarding to see them master the technique of evading an attack and counterattacking by the end of the session. We also enjoyed sharing stories about our favorite manga. Today, we hosted a guest from the US for the Tokyo Today, we hosted a guest from the US for the Tokyo Karate Dojo Experience.🇺🇸 As a long-time practitioner of Karate, we began by aligning our posture and breathing, then practiced simple Kata together to tune our awareness to different parts of the body. Moving through the Kata created a comfortable sense of synchronization in the dojo. When I asked him about the manga of his generation and shared that mine was Dragon Ball, it turned out we were from the exact same generation—a truly memorable moment. Today, a couple from the United States joined our Today, a couple from the United States joined our Tokyo Karate Dojo Experience during their trip to Japan.🇺🇸 Before the karate session, they had lunch at Kaiheiken, a local Chinese restaurant right in front of Soshikan Dojo. 🍽️ They told us the food was delicious.😀 One of the goals of budo tourism is to support local communities, so we were very happy that they enjoyed the local food and atmosphere of our area. We had a wonderful time together at the dojo and during Cozy Time after training. Today was the final day of Tourism EXPO Japan 2026 Today was the final day of Tourism EXPO Japan 2026. My karate friend Thomas-san came to see our karate workshop at the Japan Sports Agency booth today. During the workshop, explaining the "Torite" part of "Age-uke" was a bit difficult, so I asked him to help me on stage. Today, a family from the US, who is traveling in J Today, a family from the US, who is traveling in Japan, participated in the Tokyo Karate Dojo Experience. 🇺🇸 Now I can’t forget their powerful kicks. At the "Kaku-uchi" (standing bar) space "Cozy Time," they enjoyed Sapporo beer, Japanese sake, and Japanese snacks. Additionally, we bought Menchi-katsu (minced meat cutlets) from a nearby butcher shop, allowing them to experience local Japanese food. We had a wonderful time together. Yesterday was the first day of "Tourism EXPO Japan Yesterday was the first day of "Tourism EXPO Japan 2026." At the Japan Sports Agency booth, we held a Karate experience program for our project, "Urban BUDO Tourism (Karate)." We had a great 20 minutes with tour guides, translation company staff, and students. Thank you to everyone who joined us. Tomorrow, Saturday the 26th, and Sunday the 27th are open to the public. Here is our schedule for the Karate workshop: September 26th (Sat) ・16:30 - 17:00 ・17:30 - 18:00 September 27th (Sun) ・13:00 - 13:30 There are many other interesting booths at the venue.
