From Bow to Brew – MOS Burger and the Encounters of April 🇨🇦🇦🇺🇬🇧

日本語

April’s Tokyo Karate Dojo Experience began with a return visit from our guest from Canada, who had joined us in March and wanted to stop by “one more time” before heading home.

The liquor shop next door happened to be closed that day, so for our post‑training Cozy Time, I wanted to share something that still felt a little “Japanese.” I decided to take him to MOS Burger, one of my personal favorites.

I enjoy big, bold hamburgers overseas, but MOS Burger has a uniquely Japanese charm—carefully crafted flavors and fresh domestic vegetables. The portions may have been on the smaller side, but I hope he enjoyed the experience.

We welcomed two women in their twenties from Australia as well.
They told me that even the word budō (Japanese martial ways) was new to them, but they fully enjoyed the karate movements, the traditional zōkin‑gake floor cleaning, and even Japanese plum wine. I hope the “eel‑flavored potato chips” I gave them as a souvenir brought them a good laugh later on.

We also welcomed a guest from the United Kingdom.
What stood out most was her interest in the breathing exercises we practice regularly.
During Cozy Time, she tried chocolate‑coated kaki‑no‑tane (spicy rice crackers) and said, “This is really good.” Her reaction was unforgettable.

I am truly grateful for the time shared with everyone who visited in April.
Encounters through karate always bring me new insights and warmth.

I look forward to the day our paths cross again.
