Five people successfully got their black belts in karate, starting as adults!
Five new black belts have been born in the ‘Traditional Karate’ course at Yomiuri Culture Kawaguchi, which I am mainly in charge of.
People often say, ‘Isn't it difficult to start karate as an adult?’
However, karate has a well-established training system and you can certainly make progress by gradually learning the techniques and movements of the next stage.
This course is based on the principle that ‘Health comes from correct posture and breathing. Traditional karate for a bright and healthy life.’ Therefore, at the beginning we did not consider holding any examinations for promotion to kyu or dan, but due to requests from our participants, we now do so.
Achieving Shodan (black belt) is a major turning point.
However, it is difficult to obtain a passing grade unless you practise hard.
(My sensei looks kind, but is actually quite strict.)
These five of them have also been practising steadily over time.
I have seen them work very hard and I am very happy for their success.
I would like to devote myself further so that I can be as good as them.
